Fauna
The fauna of "Cornate", "Carline" and surrounding areas is represented by foxes, hares, pheasants, wild boars, roe deer, squirrels, porcupines, hedgehogs, weasels, martens, yews, jays, green woodpeckers , bee eaters, skirting boards, sparrows, finches, beaks, blackbirds, blackcaps, robins, wrens, great tits, owls, barn owls, tawny owls, owl, buzzards and hawks. About 40 years ago, the Cornate and Carline areas were characterized by the presence of partridges, rock partridges and grey partridges. These animals have completely disappeared due to changing in their habitat: the abandonment of crops in the fields in the Carline and at the feet of the Cornate, which provided essential grains for their survival; finally, the increase of foxes, marten and weasels have completed their extinction. This environment is also the ideal place for migratory birds like pigeons, doves, thrushes, fieldfares, redwings; for various species of snakes and reptiles like vipers, green lizards, wall lizard, asps; and amphibians like toads and frogs.
